Photo Walk at Lake Merritt 1.30.21

We are kicking off Black History Month with pictures from our Pop-Up Narratves Portrait Session at Lake Merritt this past Saturday!

During this photo walk @sheilbs and I (@jemapellejzov) talked about how photographs can communicate a significant part of the subject's narrative as well as the photographer’s. These photos speak to the resilience, joy, movement, and divinity of Oakland while revealing our yearning to connect with and document the community’s authenticity.
